About Trail Making Game
Trail Making Game is a short route-following activity built for a browser, not a copied paper test. It gives you two original, disclosed boards with labelled buttons. The first board asks you to connect the numbers 1 through 8 in order. The second asks you to alternate labels in the order 1, A, 2, B, 3, C, 4, D. The labels, positions, route length, and scoring rules are all product-authored. Nothing is hidden in a random generator, and the game does not borrow a clinical sheet, population table, or professional scoring rule. That makes it easy to understand what a result actually describes: one pass through two small browser routes.
Choose Start the number route when you are ready. Each node is a large labelled button, so you can tap or click it on a phone, tablet, or desktop. If a keyboard is more comfortable, type the matching label instead. A line appears only after a correct selection, which lets you see the path you have already made without revealing the next one. An incorrect node stays available and adds a small error count; it does not silently skip the route or turn a single extra click into a different task. The numeric board completes before the alternating board becomes available. This keeps the two displayed times tied to two clearly named routes.
The game also protects the simple timing display from a common browser problem. If the tab becomes hidden, the active route pauses. When you return, choose Resume to start a fresh visible interval for the next node. Time spent on another app, a notification, a call, or a background tab is therefore not reported as if it were a response. The page uses the browser's monotonic timer only for this local display. It is not a laboratory instrument, a standardised reaction-time procedure, or a controlled comparison across devices. Screen size, input method, browser scheduling, route familiarity, interruptions, and ordinary day-to-day variation can all change a round.
After both routes finish, the result panel shows the number-route time, the alternating-route time, their simple difference, total errors, and points. The difference is only alternating time minus number time within this exact product route. It is not an interference score, age-adjusted result, percentile, grade, cutoff, diagnosis, or proof that you would perform the same way elsewhere. A clean score is simply a way to replay the same transparent game rule. Restart creates a new local attempt with the same two visible boards, and the shared game shell may remember your best local points in browser storage. It does not create an online leaderboard or send a score to Lizely.
Everything runs in your browser. The game does not ask for an account, name, camera, microphone, file upload, contact detail, or profile. You can use it as a short focused break, a route-following challenge, or a way to compare your own attempts under the same displayed rules. It is reasonable to stop when interrupted, use touch or keyboard controls that suit you, and read the final panel as a record of this session rather than a personal label. Other games on this site have different routes and rules, so their numbers should not be combined into a profile.
This is an entertainment exercise, not a clinical/IQ/cognitive assessment. It does not diagnose attention, measure intelligence, or show whether your brain has improved. The two fixed routes have no norm group, health interpretation, educational score, professional meaning, or treatment value. Methodology & sources
Two original fixed browser routes contain eight labelled nodes each: a numeric 1β8 route and an alternating 1-A-2-B-3-C-4-D route. One visible node token can progress the current route, wrong nodes record local errors, and a hidden-tab pause restarts the visible interval. Results are within-route browser-game timings only, with no norm table, clinical protocol, or external benchmark.
