About 15 Puzzle
The 15 Puzzle is one of the oldest sliding puzzles in the world, and this Lizely version keeps it exactly as sharp as the original. You get a 4x4 frame with fifteen numbered tiles and one empty space; slide tiles with your arrow keys or a click until the numbers read 1 through 15 in order. Every board this game deals is checked for mathematical solvability (an odd-permutation board can never be solved, so Lizely simply never deals one). Your best result is counted in moves, not time, so the game rewards planning over frantic clicking: solve the top row first, then the left column, and repeat on the shrinking board that remains. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded, nothing is installed, and the double-Esc boss key instantly swaps the board for a spreadsheet when someone walks past your desk.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this 15 puzzle free to play?
- Yes. The Lizely 15 puzzle is completely free, with no download, no sign-up, and no limits on how many rounds you play.
- Is every shuffle actually solvable?
- Yes. Half of all random tile arrangements are mathematically unsolvable, so the game checks the permutation parity of every shuffle and only deals solvable boards.
- What are the keyboard controls?
- Use the arrow keys to slide tiles into the empty space, press Restart to reshuffle, and press Esc twice for the boss key screen.
