About Number Memory Test
Number Memory Test is a short, deterministic recall exercise built for repeatable casual play. It presents five product-authored digit strings in a fixed route. The first string contains three digits, and each later round adds one digit until the fifth round reaches seven. Every restart restores the same route: 482, 7316, 90527, 164803, and 7281945. Because the fixtures never shuffle, a player can understand exactly what the page is doing, and browser checks can verify every transition without depending on random data.
Each round has three explicit states. The number begins covered. Choose Reveal number, press R, or press Enter to display it. Study it for as long as you choose; there is no countdown. Then choose Hide and enter, press H, or press Enter again. The number disappears and a digit field receives focus. Type the complete response and press Enter or choose Submit response. Incomplete input does not count as an attempt, and letters are rejected by the product logic rather than being silently treated as a wrong answer.
This manual reveal and hide design is intentional. A timer-based memory game can behave differently on a busy device, under reduced browser resources, or during automated acceptance checks. It may also turn a recall exercise into a reaction-speed task. Here, the player controls when the study phase ends. There is no asynchronous wait, interval, animation race, reaction measurement, or hidden timeout. The same action always creates the same visible state, making the exercise accessible to players who want more time and stable enough for deterministic testing.
A correct response advances to the next covered fixture and awards 200 points. Completing all five rounds therefore produces exactly 1,000 points. One wrong response is recoverable: the same fixture returns to its covered state and can be revealed again. A second wrong response ends the run in a visible deadlock. Once a run is complete or deadlocked, reveal, hide, input, and submit actions are frozen, so additional clicks or repeated keys cannot alter the result. Restart clears the score, mistakes, response text, feedback, and terminal state.
The whole exercise is playable from a keyboard. R reveals a covered number, H hides a visible number, and Enter advances either of those steps. During entry, ordinary digit keys fill the native text field and Enter submits a complete response. The shared Restart control starts over, while pressing Escape twice opens the site-wide boss-key spreadsheet view and pressing Escape twice again returns to the game. Pointer and touch controls remain visible for each action, and status text announces the current round, digit count, misses, and terminal result.
The published practice route explains the fixture lengths and scoring model on the page. The exact strings are fixed in the client logic so the experience can be audited and reproduced, but the interaction does not call a remote service, upload responses, create a player profile, or fetch a runtime dataset. Best score is saved only in local browser storage when that storage is available. The game introduces no server endpoint, account requirement, package, external image, sound asset, or background process.
Despite its name, this page is not a standardized number-memory or digit-span test. Its five strings, manual study duration, retry rule, scoring, and deadlock condition are product choices, not norms from a clinical or educational instrument. The result is not an IQ score, cognitive estimate, diagnosis, screening outcome, health indicator, or evidence of memory improvement. Do not compare scores between people or use them for medical, school, employment, safety, or ability decisions. A perfect result only means that the fixed five-round game was completed under its disclosed rules.
Use Number Memory Test when you want a brief, transparent recall challenge with no timer pressure. Since the route remains fixed, repeat players may memorize the answers over time; that is expected for a practice fixture and is not presented as improvement in memory. A constant five-entry fixture array contains unique digit strings of lengths 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. State transitions proceed only from hidden to revealed to entry. A full exact match awards 200 points and advances; five matches produce exactly 1,000. An incorrect full-length response replays the current fixture from hidden, and the second mistake deadlocks. Invalid or incomplete input is ignored as an attempt. Complete and deadlocked states return unchanged for every later game action.
