About Face Memory Test

Face Memory Test is a five-round visual-recall game made entirely from original geometric illustrations. Each round shows one fictional profile for two visible countdown ticks. When the target disappears, choose the same drawing from three options. Match all five profiles before a second distinct error to complete the run with exactly 1,000 points.

No photograph, portrait file, stock image, generated person, identity record, or external asset is used. The game assembles fifteen abstract SVG profiles from a small authored vocabulary: round, oval, or square head outlines; five hair shapes; three brow shapes; three eye shapes; three nose shapes; four mouth shapes; and optional cheek marks or freckles. These are code-drawn puzzle features, not measurements of real people.

The named profiles Alder through Opal are fictional fixture identifiers. They do not represent a person, demographic group, diagnosis, emotion label, or biometric template. The tool does not recognize a face, compare an upload, estimate identity, infer sensitive attributes, or claim to measure memory ability. It simply asks which original illustration was displayed a moment earlier.

Reveal and Recall are isolated states. Reveal mounts one target illustration and no answer buttons. After two one-second ticks, or after the player chooses Recall now, the target branch unmounts and three option buttons mount. The hidden target is not left behind with opacity, clipping, alternate text, a data attribute, or a concealed option list in the active Reveal document.

The five fixed correct option positions are 2, 1, 3, 2, and 1 when counted as the labeled buttons shown to the player. A clean match adds 200 points and opens the next target Reveal. The result sequence is deterministic, with no shuffled answer position, random portrait, timer bonus, adaptive model, or hidden score adjustment. Five matches therefore equal exactly 1,000.

One distinct wrong profile is recoverable. Choosing the same wrong profile again in the same round is deduplicated and leaves the error count unchanged. A second different wrong profile closes the run and disables further answers. Unknown identifiers, options from another round, cursor moves outside the three-button tray, and actions attempted in the wrong phase are atomic no-ops.

The pointer path uses three large illustrated buttons. Keyboard users can press Enter or Space during Reveal, then use 1 through 3 for direct selection. Left and Right move the visible selection and Enter or Space confirms it. Up and Down deliberately do nothing because the option tray is a single row. The shared Restart control returns to the first target and restores the two-tick countdown.

The independent test restates all five target-and-option trays as literal fixtures. It proves each tray contains three distinct profiles and its target exactly once, executes the complete option route for scores 200 through 1,000, steps the pure reveal timer, tests Recall now, checks left and right boundaries, rejects a face outside the current tray, deduplicates a repeated miss, triggers the second-miss deadlock, and verifies terminal freeze.

The SVG uses semantic foreground, surface, accent, and border variables, so it remains visible with the site's themes without downloading an image. The illustrations have stable view boxes that reserve their dimensions and avoid layout shifts. Answer buttons provide textual option labels and visible focus, while the status text announces round, matches, and errors without relying only on color.

Everything runs locally. There is no camera request, file upload, account, API, machine-learning model, cookie-based identity, or network call. Only the shared best completed score can remain in this browser. Double-press Escape for the simulated spreadsheet boss screen and repeat it to resume. Fifteen immutable fictional profile specs combine authored SVG head, hair, brow, eye, nose, mouth, and mark primitives. Five rounds declare one target and three distinct option IDs. A pure two-tick reducer changes Reveal to Recall; Recall now uses the same state transition. Correct choice adds 200 and advances. Wrong attempts are keyed by round and profile ID, identical repeats dedupe, and two distinct misses deadlock. Options outside the current tray and terminal or out-of-phase actions are atomic.
