How to use
- 1.Study the Orb, Wedge, and Loop on the 3×3 board, then use Count down or Hide now when you are ready to recall them.
- 2.Drag each tray object to its original cell, or select it and choose a cell; keyboard players use 1–3, Arrow keys, and Enter or Space.
- 3.Restore all three objects in each of five fixed files. Every completed file awards 200 points for an exact final score of 1,000.
About Position Memory Game
Position Memory Game is a five-round spatial recall challenge on a three-by-three board. During the Show phase, three original geometric objects appear in fixed cells. When you are ready, hide the positions and restore the Orb, Wedge, and Loop from a shuffled recall tray. The board, objects, target coordinates, tray orders, scoring, and error policy are original finite product fixtures.
The first file places Orb in cell 1, Wedge in cell 5, and Loop in cell 9 when cells are numbered left to right from one through nine. The second uses cells 3, 4, and 8. The third uses cells 7, 2, and 6. The fourth uses cells 9, 1, and 5. The fifth uses cells 4, 8, and 3. These layouts are literal and deterministic rather than randomly generated.
Each Show phase begins with a visible count of three. The Count down control advances one pure step, while Hide now moves directly to Recall. The controls make the transition deterministic for keyboard, touch, and automated accessibility use; no hidden timing race changes an answer. Once the board is hidden, the tray uses a separately authored order for that round instead of copying the target cell order.
Pointer and touch players can drag a tray object onto a board cell. Every drag uses the same placement reducer as the click path. Players can also select an object and click its remembered cell. Keyboard players press 1, 2, or 3 according to the visible tray order, move the board cursor with Arrow keys, and place with Enter or Space. Enter or Space also hides the board during Show.
A round awards 200 points only after all three objects occupy their exact original cells. Five restored files therefore produce exactly 1,000. A correctly placed object leaves the tray and remains visible on the recalled board. A wrong placement keeps the object selected so the player can recover without repeating the selection step.
One distinct wrong object-and-cell placement is recoverable. Repeating the identical object in the identical wrong cell during the same round is an atomic no-op and does not add an error. A different wrong placement creates the second error and closes the file. Occupied cells, unknown objects, fractional cells, negative cells, and cells outside zero through eight are rejected without partial state changes.
Completion and deadlock freeze selection, placement, cursor movement, and Show controls. Restart restores the first literal layout, Show count three, empty placements, first board cursor, zero score, and zero errors. The shared game shell provides best-score storage and the double-Escape Boss Key. All interactive targets meet the 44-pixel minimum.
Independent tests own all five target-coordinate maps and all five tray orders as literal fixtures. Eight coordinate goldens sample every object and multiple board regions. Separate paths verify pure Show ticks, Hide now, full exact-1,000 completion, a recoverable error, identical-error deduplication, second-error deadlock, occupied-cell rejection, cursor boundaries, illegal input, Restart, and terminal freezing.
Everything runs locally in the browser with no account, upload, camera, random service, model, API, or new dependency. The score reflects only these five disclosed layouts. It is entertainment rather than a cognitive assessment, medical screen, educational placement decision, developmental milestone, or guarantee of memory performance.
Methodology & sources
Represent five original rounds as literal object-to-cell maps plus independently authored tray orders on a 3×3 board. Separate Show from Recall with pure tick and Hide now actions. Route drag, click, touch, and keyboard placement through one reducer; award 200 only when all three unique objects occupy their exact cells and exactly 1,000 after five rounds. Deduplicate a round-object-wrong-cell signature, reject illegal or occupied cells atomically, deadlock on the second distinct error, and freeze terminal states. Independently restate every target and tray fixture before replaying full win and loss routes.
Frequently asked questions
- Are the layouts random?
- No. The five coordinate maps and tray orders are fixed original fixtures, so Restart always returns to the same auditable route.
- Do I have to drag the objects?
- No. Click-select and board-cell controls are available, and the complete game can also be played with the keyboard.
- What happens after a wrong position?
- The object stays selected for recovery; an identical retry is ignored, while a second distinct wrong placement closes the run.
