About Letterhead Generator

Letterhead Generator creates a simple vector header and footer for ordinary business correspondence. Enter a company name, optional tagline, up to three address lines, phone, email, website, and an accent color. Generate displays the exact SVG that Download SVG saves, so the reviewed preview and exported markup use the same validated string. The page keeps a large blank body area for later writing in a vector editor, word processor, layout application, or print workflow.

The company name is required and limited to 80 characters. Tagline, phone, email, website, and every address line have explicit limits, and the address accepts at most three non-empty lines. These are layout and performance boundaries, not official formatting rules. The widget removes surrounding whitespace, rejects disallowed control characters, and rejects a fourth non-empty address line rather than silently hiding content beyond the visible header.

Accent color must use a complete six-digit hexadecimal value in #RRGGBB form. The browser color input normally supplies that format, while the pure logic layer validates it again before SVG generation. The accent appears in the horizontal header rule and footer divider. Other foreground and background values are fixed neutral design colors so the output remains readable; the tool does not calculate brand contrast compliance or claim that one chosen accent satisfies an organization's accessibility policy.

Every user string is inserted only after XML entity escaping. Ampersands, angle brackets, quotes, and apostrophes become safe text entities, so a company such as North & Pine remains visible text and script-looking input cannot become an SVG element. Contact lines use ordinary SVG text nodes, and no user value is copied into an event handler, foreignObject, external image, link, style block, or executable script. Tests assert exact escaping and require one root SVG element.

The design canvas has a fixed 816 by 1056 viewBox and matching width and height attributes. Those numbers are a disclosed product layout choice that gives a portrait workspace and predictable coordinates. They are not a calibrated inch, millimeter, DPI, paper-size, printer-margin, or standards claim. A browser, editor, office suite, PDF converter, or printer can scale the SVG, and physical output depends on the downstream application's page setup and hardware.

Company and tagline appear at the upper left. Contact details appear as right-aligned lines in the order address, phone, email, and website. The footer repeats the company and website when available. Blank optional fields do not reserve fake content. The SVG uses a white page, safe font-family fallback, fixed logical coordinates, accessible image role, and an aria-label based on the escaped company name. It does not embed a logo, signature, QR code, tracking pixel, remote font, or external asset.

After generation, inspect spelling, line wrapping, contact accuracy, accent contrast, and spacing. Download produces a standalone SVG with a filename derived from a sanitized company name. Editing any field clears the previous preview and revokes its temporary object URL, preventing an old download from appearing to represent new inputs. The download URL is also revoked after use and when the component unmounts.

This utility is not a trademark search, brand approval system, corporate registry, legal stationery service, postal validator, email verifier, accessibility audit, print preflight, or identity authentication tool. A polished letterhead does not prove that the named organization exists or authorizes a message. Users remain responsible for brand permission, accurate contact information, applicable disclosures, and the document content placed beneath the header.

All generation happens in the current browser tab. Company information is not uploaded, stored in an account, or sent to a remote rendering service. The reliable contract is narrow: validate bounded text and one color, escape every string for XML, serialize one deterministic SVG, show that exact string in the preview, create a local download only after direct action, and distinguish logical canvas dimensions from physical print claims.

Frequently asked questions

Is 816 by 1056 a guaranteed physical paper size?
No. It is a fixed logical SVG canvas chosen for this template. Physical dimensions depend on the editor, page setup, scaling, and printer used later.
Can text input inject SVG markup?
No. User strings are bounded and XML-escaped before insertion into ordinary text nodes; they are never inserted as handlers, styles, links, or foreign content.
Does the letterhead prove a company identity or authorization?
No. The tool does not authenticate organizations, trademarks, addresses, or senders. A user must have permission and verify every detail.
