About Invoice Generator

The Invoice Generator is a free, no-login tool that lets freelancers, contractors, consultants, and small business owners create a clean, professional invoice and download it as a print-ready PDF entirely inside a web browser. There is no account to create, no email to hand over, and no file that ever leaves your device. Everything, from the live math to the final PDF, is generated locally with JavaScript, so your client names, addresses, rates, and totals stay private on your own computer instead of being uploaded to a server the way many online invoicing sites require.

Using it is straightforward. Fill in the From section with your own name or company and address, then the Bill To section with your client's details. Set an invoice number (it defaults to INV-001), pick an issue date and a due date using the date pickers, and choose the currency symbol that matches how you bill: US dollar, British pound, euro, or yen. Add one row for each product or service you are charging for: type a description, the quantity (whole numbers or decimals such as 1.5 hours both work), and the unit price. You can add or remove line rows at any time, and there is always at least one row to start from.

The tool calculates your totals in real time as you type. The subtotal is the sum of every line (quantity multiplied by unit price), the tax line applies the percentage you enter to that subtotal, and an optional flat discount is subtracted to produce the final amount due. To keep the numbers exact, all math is done in integer cents rather than floating-point dollars, which avoids the tiny rounding drift that can otherwise make an invoice add up a cent off. The discount is automatically kept between zero and the amount due, so a total can never go negative. A live preview on the page mirrors exactly what the downloaded PDF will contain, so there are no surprises.

When you are ready, click Download PDF. The tool lays out a professional invoice: a bold INVOICE heading, your From and Bill To blocks, the invoice number and dates, an itemized table with Description, Qty, Unit Price, and Amount columns, and a Subtotal, Tax, and Total summary in the lower right, plus any notes you added at the bottom. Long item lists flow onto additional pages automatically. The result is a standard PDF you can print, attach to an email, or archive for your records.

A note on privacy and an honest word about features: because nothing is uploaded, the tool also works offline once the page has loaded, and the PDF carries no watermark and no branding from this site. This version is text-based; it does not yet support uploading a company logo or image, so if you need a logo you can add one afterward in any PDF editor. Any characters your PDF font cannot represent (for example emoji or some non-Latin scripts) are safely substituted so the file always generates without errors, while the four supported currency symbols always render correctly.

Common questions include whether data is stored (it is not), which currencies work (four symbols, with no exchange-rate conversion), and whether the tool is really free (it is, with no sign-up). If you send invoices regularly, bookmark this page: it loads instantly and keeps every billing detail on your own machine.

Frequently asked questions

Is my invoice data uploaded anywhere?
No. The entire invoice — every calculation and the final PDF — is built locally in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is sent to a server, so your client details and amounts never leave your device.
Can I add my logo?
Not in this version. The generator produces a clean, text-based invoice without a logo or image upload. If you need a logo you can add one afterward in a PDF editor. The PDF itself has no watermark or third-party branding.
What currencies are supported?
You can choose the US dollar ($), British pound (£), euro (€), or yen (¥) symbol. The symbol is used for display only — the tool does not convert between currencies or apply exchange rates.
Are the totals accurate?
Yes. All math is done in integer cents rather than decimal dollars, which prevents floating-point rounding errors. The subtotal, tax, and discount always add up exactly, and the discount is capped so the total never goes negative.
Is it really free, and does it work offline?
Yes, it is completely free with no sign-up. Because everything runs in your browser, it also works offline once the page has finished loading.
