About Rebus Puzzle Game

Rebus Puzzle is a short visual wordplay game built around five original Lizely cards. Each card arranges familiar English words through position, repetition, nesting, or scale, and your task is to type the phrase suggested by that arrangement. Nothing is selected from a random bank. The same five cards appear in the same order on every restart, so you can learn the visual language, compare attempts, and reproduce a perfect run without luck.

The opening card places MAN above BOARD. Later cards put READING between two horizontal lines, repeat CYCLE three times, nest one WORLD inside another, and render TALK at a deliberately small size. These are locally authored HTML and CSS compositions rather than image files, screenshots, or borrowed puzzle art. Text remains available to assistive technology, while the surrounding card provides a concise accessible label that describes the relevant visual relationship without revealing the answer.

Enter one phrase at a time and submit it with the button or the Enter key. The answer checker normalizes Unicode text, letter case, surrounding spaces, repeated spacing, and punctuation. For example, capital letters or a trailing exclamation mark do not turn an otherwise correct phrase into an error. Blank input and punctuation-only input are rejected without consuming a mistake. This keeps the challenge focused on the phrase rather than on incidental formatting.

A correct answer advances to the next card and awards 200 points. Solving all five cards therefore produces exactly 1,000 points. One distinct wrong answer is recoverable, and repeating the same normalized wrong answer does not create an extra penalty. A second distinct wrong answer ends the run until Restart. Once a run is complete or deadlocked, later submissions cannot change the round, score, mistake history, or result.

Every button uses a stable label, the answer field keeps ordinary browser editing behavior, and Restart is always available after a terminal result. The small fixed set also avoids presenting an endless generated quiz as factual or comprehensive English knowledge.
