To get started mirroring PDF pages, choose a PDF from your device, select either a left-to-right or top-to-bottom mirror, choose the pages to transform, and download the new PDF. The Flip Mirror PDF Pages tool is built for this exact task: it creates a separate PDF whose selected page artwork is mirrored while your original file remains untouched. Because processing and download creation happen directly in your browser, no PDF is sent to a server, and the workflow needs no sign-in, queue, or remote-storage step. Mirroring suits a scan, artwork proof, technical drawing, or photographed document that needs a true reflected image rather than a simple turn. A horizontal mirror swaps the left and right sides, while a vertical mirror swaps the top and bottom. Use all pages when the entire document should be reflected, or enter a range when only selected sheets need correction. The result works best for normal pages where rendered artwork is what matters, including reports, diagrams, worksheets, and image-based scans. Before printing or sharing, open the download in your usual PDF reader and inspect page numbers, signatures, small edge text, and any page with stored rotation.

Prepare a Clean Starting File
Open the browser-based tool and select a PDF that you can already open. The source file stays on your device during processing, and the download is produced directly in the browser. You do not need to upload the document, create an account, or put it into a remote processing queue. Since the operation creates a new PDF rather than editing the source in place, keep the original available for comparison with the mirrored version.
A password-protected or unreadable PDF is rejected safely. If you know the password, remove that known protection before using the mirror tool; the Remove PDF Password tool can remove the known protection. The mirror operation cannot produce a result for a locked or unreadable file, so protection must be addressed first.
Choose the Mirror Direction That Matches the Error
Flipping a PDF page can sound like turning it, but this tool uses flipping in the strict sense of reflecting the page. Start by deciding which axis is wrong. If text or artwork should exchange left and right sides, choose Left to Right. If it should exchange the top and bottom, choose Top to Bottom. This differs from rotating a page by an angle: a mirror reverses one axis and can make reading direction run backward.
| Mirror choice | Visual change | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Left to Right | Swaps the left and right sides | You need a horizontal reflection or want to reverse a sideways-reading layout |
| Top to Bottom | Swaps the top and bottom | You need a vertical reflection across the horizontal axis |
The choice matters for transfer artwork, mirrored layout checks, reversed scans, and print-side comparisons. A rotation is the better answer when a page is simply sideways or upside down; in that case, use Rotate PDF rather than adding a reflection. Before you commit, look at the page in your PDF reader and identify whether the required correction swaps sides or swaps top and bottom.
Mirror PDF Pages from Start to Download
- Choose a PDF file from your device. Open the file picker and select the PDF you want to mirror. The tool reads the file locally rather than sending it to a server. Make sure the document opens normally and is not protected by a password.
- Select the direction and page scope. Choose Left to Right for a horizontal mirror or Top to Bottom for a vertical mirror. Then choose all pages or enter a page range if only certain sheets should change. A range such as 1-3,5 mirrors pages 1 through 3 and page 5, while the other pages remain unchanged.
- Mirror the selected pages and download the new PDF. Run the mirror operation. The tool creates a fresh PDF, embeds the selected pages as mirrored artwork at their original dimensions, copies unselected pages unchanged, and makes a separately named result available for download. Your source PDF is never overwritten.
That sequence—select, set, and download—is the complete browser workflow. There is no separate conversion step because the input is already a PDF and the downloaded output is also a PDF. If only one side of a mixed batch was scanned incorrectly, keep the scope narrow rather than reflecting every sheet.
Select All Pages or a Precise Range
Choose all pages when every sheet needs the same reflection. This is appropriate for an artwork proof in which every page requires a mirrored preview or for an entire scan that must be reflected as one document.
A page range is better when a document contains a mix of correct and reversed sheets. For example, enter 1-3,5 to mirror those pages only. The selected pages receive the new mirrored appearance, while the unselected pages are copied into the new PDF unchanged. This lets you correct a small group without disturbing pages that are already right.
Confirm the page numbers against the document before running the operation. If you are mirroring a back side that was scanned through the wrong side of a feeder, verify both the range and the chosen axis. A precise range controls which pages are transformed, but it does not determine the mirror direction; that setting still has to match the correction you need.
Understand What the Browser Changes
The result is a new document built from rendered PDF pages, not an editable transformation of every internal PDF object. Selected ordinary page artwork is drawn as a mirrored copy at the original page dimensions. This works well for ordinary reports, diagrams, worksheets, and image-based scans.
| Document element | Result after mirroring |
|---|---|
| Selected page artwork | Mirrored at the original page dimensions |
| Unselected pages | Copied unchanged |
| Fillable fields, comments, and hyperlinks | Converted into page appearance on selected pages rather than retained as editable objects |
| Original PDF file | Never overwritten |
| Downloaded result | A separate PDF created directly in the browser |
That distinction matters when a PDF contains fillable form fields, comments, hyperlinks, buttons, annotations, or other interactive elements. On pages that are mirrored, those objects are converted into page appearance rather than retained as editable objects. You can inspect the visible result, but an element that must remain clickable, fillable, or editable will need an editor designed to rebuild those objects after the geometric mirror.
The mirror also remains a geometric change only. It does not rearrange pages, trim margins, or add a visible label.
Check the Mirrored File Before Printing
Open the downloaded PDF in your normal reader and check it page by page. Look at page numbers, signatures, diagrams, and small text near an edge, because the reflection deliberately changes reading direction and can make a mistake easier to miss. Compare the source and output side by side when you need to confirm that only the intended sheets were affected.
Pay particular attention to PDFs that store a 90- or 270-degree page rotation, which can occur with scans from phones and document feeders. The tool detects this condition and tells you that the mirror follows the stored PDF orientation. That information matters because the geometric mirror is applied according to the page orientation stored in the file, so inspect the downloaded page before using it in print production.
For a simple sideways or upside-down orientation error, mirroring is the wrong operation because it reverses an axis instead of turning the page. Use rotation instead. Likewise, a mirror cannot reorder a document, crop its margins, or add a label. Checking the purpose before processing helps avoid creating a technically correct PDF that solves the wrong task.
Match the Task to the Right PDF Edit
Use the mirror workflow for a true reflected page: correcting a reversed scan, preparing transfer artwork, checking a mirrored layout, or comparing print sides. The page content is the thing being changed, so the local browser workflow is well suited to ordinary rendered pages.
- For a page that only needs to turn by 90, 180, or 270 degrees, use Rotate PDF.
- For a new sequence of pages, use Rearrange PDF Pages.
- For a visible label, use the Add Watermark tool rather than reflecting the page.
- For a file with a known password, remove protection before mirroring it.
- For interactive objects that must stay editable, use an editor that can rebuild those objects after mirroring.
Finally, keep both files. The original remains untouched by the operation, which makes a visual comparison possible and gives you a fallback if the reflection does not match your intended correction.
