About Flip Mirror PDF Pages

Flip PDF pages when a scan, artwork proof, technical drawing, or photographed document needs a true mirror image rather than a rotation. This browser-based tool creates a new PDF and mirrors the page artwork horizontally (left to right) or vertically (top to bottom). You can process every page or enter a precise selection such as 1-3,5, which is useful when only a few scanned sheets are backwards. Unlike rotating a PDF, mirroring reverses the page along an axis: a horizontal mirror swaps the left and right sides, while a vertical mirror swaps the top and bottom. That makes it appropriate for preparing transfer artwork, checking mirrored layouts, correcting reversed scans, or comparing print sides. Your file remains on this device during processing; the download is created directly in your browser and no PDF is sent to a server. The original file is never overwritten. Choose the direction, select the pages, run the tool, and download a separately named result. The tool retains ordinary page artwork by drawing a mirrored copy at the original page dimensions. For selected pages, interactive PDF objects such as fillable form fields, comments, and hyperlinks are converted into page appearance rather than retained as editable objects. This is deliberate: a reliable geometric mirror of those independent objects is outside the promise of this lightweight local tool. Password-protected or unreadable files are rejected safely, so remove known protection before using the tool. Some PDFs store a 90- or 270-degree page rotation, particularly scans from phones and document feeders. The tool detects that condition and tells you that the mirror follows the stored PDF orientation; inspect the downloaded page before using it for print production. For a simple orientation change, use Rotate PDF instead. For changing page order, use Rearrange PDF Pages. For a visible label, use Add Watermark to PDF. The result is best for normal PDF pages where the important content is the rendered page artwork, and it gives you a private, quick alternative for one-off local corrections. Before sharing a mirrored document, open the download in your normal PDF reader and inspect page numbers, signatures, and any small text near an edge. A mirror operation intentionally reverses reading direction, so it is not a substitute for rotation, reordering, or cropping. The original file remains untouched, making it safe to compare both versions side by side. For a document with a mix of pages, use page ranges to leave already-correct pages unchanged. This is especially useful for a batch where only a back side was scanned through the wrong side of a feeder. If the page contains an interactive button, link, annotation, or field that must remain interactive after transformation, use an editor designed to rebuild those objects instead. This tool focuses on a dependable rendered-page mirror and does not disguise that limitation. On regular reports, diagrams, worksheets, and image-based scans, it provides a direct local download without a sign-in, queue, or remote storage step.

Methodology & sources

Selected pages are embedded into a fresh PDF page and drawn with a negative horizontal or vertical scale plus an offset equal to the page width or height. Unselected pages are copied unchanged.

Frequently asked questions

Is flipping the same as rotating a PDF?
No. A rotation turns a page by an angle; flipping mirrors it across a horizontal or vertical axis.
Can I flip only some pages?
Yes. Enter a range such as 1-3,5 to mirror only those pages.
Are files uploaded?
No. Processing and the download happen locally in your browser.
Will fillable fields and comments remain editable?
No. On mirrored pages they are not retained as editable PDF objects.
