About Numerology Calculator

Numerology Calculator creates a five-number chart from a full name and Gregorian birth date. The result includes Life Path, Birthday, Expression, Soul Urge, and Personality numbers. It is a transparent arithmetic reference for cultural interest: every component names its input rule, shows the selected letters, lists their values, and displays the reduction chain. It does not claim that a number diagnoses a personality, proves compatibility, forecasts an event, or replaces evidence-based advice.

The name calculations use the common Pythagorean repeating 1 through 9 letter table. A, J, and S map to 1; B, K, and T to 2; C, L, and U to 3; D, M, and V to 4; E, N, and W to 5; F, O, and X to 6; G, P, and Y to 7; H, Q, and Z to 8; and I and R to 9. The complete mapping is shown on the page, so a result can be checked without trusting a hidden lookup.

Expression uses every normalized A–Z letter in the name. Soul Urge uses A, E, I, O, and U. Personality uses the remaining consonants, and this implementation always treats Y as a consonant. That fixed Y policy is important because other numerology systems treat Y contextually. The tool states the choice rather than implying that all practitioners use one rule. If a name contains no letters for a component, the component is unavailable instead of being invented as zero.

Names are normalized with Unicode NFKD and combining marks are removed before the remaining English A–Z letters are scored. Whitespace separates name parts; punctuation inside a part is ignored. Each part is reduced first, preserving 11, 22, or 33, and the part results are combined and reduced with the same master-number stop rule. This declared per-part convention can differ from systems that sum all letters in one pass. The normalized name and per-part work remain visible in the result.

Life Path reuses the site's independently tested component method: month, day, and year are reduced separately, their values are added, and the final total is reduced while preserving 11, 22, and 33. Birthday is simply the calendar day from 1 through 31 and is not reduced. These two date values are kept distinct because collapsing the Birthday value would silently change the stated chart method.

Input checks require a non-empty name with at least one supported letter, a valid Gregorian date, and a name no longer than 120 characters. The browser rejects malformed dates and unsupported all-symbol names before producing a chart. Accented Latin letters normalize where Unicode decomposition provides a base letter. Non-Latin scripts are outside this deliberately limited Pythagorean A–Z scope and are not assigned made-up values.

All work happens in the browser. The component contains no fetch call, model request, analytics call, localStorage write, sessionStorage write, or account requirement. A name and birth date stay in current tab memory until the page is reset or closed. Reset clears the controlled fields and result. This local design reduces unnecessary exposure, although anyone who can view the screen or control the device can still see current inputs.

The layout stacks on narrow screens, uses native date and text inputs, and gives primary controls at least a 44-pixel target. Long valid names and calculation strings wrap instead of widening the page. Keyboard users can move through inputs, Calculate, and Reset using ordinary controls. Result labels are text rather than color-only signals, and every number has a readable explanation of its source subset.

Verification uses ten literal chart cases and an independent complete 26-letter fixture. Cases cover accents, punctuation, multiple name parts, master numbers, an 11 plus 11 combination that becomes 22, empty vowel or consonant subsets, date boundaries, and the fixed Y rule. The test oracle does not import the production mapping when establishing expected letter values. Correctness here means faithful execution of the declared convention, not scientific validation of numerology.

Methodology & sources

Normalize the entered name with Unicode NFKD, remove combining marks, uppercase it, split whitespace-delimited parts, and score only A-Z using the literal Pythagorean 1-9 table. Calculate Expression from all letters, Soul Urge from AEIOU, and Personality from the remaining letters with Y always consonant. Reduce each part and the combined values while preserving 11, 22, and 33. Reuse the independently tested component-style Life Path calculation and keep Birthday as the original day 1-31. Return unavailable for a name subset with no matching letters; never persist or transmit inputs.
