About Karmic Lessons Calculator

The Karmic Lessons Calculator implements a narrow, auditable name-number convention: map every letter in a full birth name to the Pythagorean values 1 through 9, count how often each value occurs, and list only values whose count is exactly zero. Although the traditional label uses the word “karmic,” this tool does not assert karma, past lives, destiny, or a verified personal deficiency. It performs the cited table operation and exposes the complete counts.

The method starts with the full name given at birth. The name is normalized to basic A–Z letters with the site's shared birth-name function. Diacritics are converted to their Latin base letters, case is ignored, whitespace is normalized, and punctuation or digits do not receive invented values. Every retained letter is then passed to the shared Pythagorean mapping. The rows are A/J/S=1, B/K/T=2, C/L/U=3, D/M/V=4, E/N/W=5, F/O/X=6, G/P/Y=7, H/Q/Z=8, and I/R=9.

The result table always shows all nine values in numeric order. A value is included in the missing list only when its count is zero. For the published MARY ANN JONES example, the represented values are 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9, so the strict missing set is 2, 3, and 8. A name containing at least one letter from every row has no missing values. Repeated letters increase their row count but do not change the zero-or-present rule for other rows.

The strict boundary is important because the independent Numerologist source also discusses an optional “functional absence” calibration, especially for the value 5. Under that modified approach, a value with a small nonzero count may sometimes be treated differently. This calculator deliberately does not implement that calibration. One occurrence, two occurrences, or any other positive count means the value is present. It also excludes modified-lesson variants, number meanings, rankings, compatibility claims, and prose interpretations. The interface states that scope next to the table.

The implementation imports the reviewed Pythagorean rows, letterValue function, and name normalizer already used by the site's general Numerology Calculator. It does not duplicate or silently alter the mapping. The evidence manifest marks this as reference-table logic and declares nine expected entries, unique row keys, and unique values. Ten evidence-bound cases cover the published example, complete 1–9 coverage, repeated values, tied counts, diacritics, punctuation, whitespace, a single name, non-letter material, and the 120-character boundary.

Input without an A–Z letter after normalization is rejected rather than returning all nine values as if a blank name were meaningful. Names longer than 120 characters are rejected consistently with the shared name tools. The normalized name appears above the counts so the user can verify what was included. The result is deterministic and does not depend on today's date, a birth date, location, or any external profile.

All processing occurs locally in the browser. The name is not sent over the network, written to localStorage, or saved in another browser database. Reset clears both the input and result. Methodology & sources

The implementation reuses PYTHAGOREAN_ROWS, letterValue, and normalizeBirthName from the reviewed numerology module. It creates a fixed nine-entry count array, increments the mapped row for every normalized letter, and returns values whose exact count is zero. The evidence declares nine expected entries and unique keys/values, while an independent fixture deep-compares ten complete golden cases. Tests cover the published MARY ANN JONES example, every table row, repeated counts, the explicit exclusion of functional absence, normalization, invalid input, length bounds, visible output, privacy, reset, and mobile containment.

Does the tool use functional absence or modified lessons?
No. Any positive count means the value is present. Optional functional-absence calibrations, modified variants, and interpretive meanings are outside this calculator.
