About Zodiac Sign Calculator

Zodiac Sign Calculator maps a selected month and day to the twelve popular tropical sun-sign date ranges. It does not ask for a year, time, place, name, or account, and the selected values remain in the current browser tab. The output includes the conventional sign name and symbol plus an explicit statement that the result is cultural and entertainment reference.

The fixed ranges used here are Aries from March 21, Taurus from April 20, Gemini from May 21, Cancer from June 21, Leo from July 23, Virgo from August 23, Libra from September 23, Scorpio from October 23, Sagittarius from November 22, Capricorn from December 22, Aquarius from January 20, and Pisces from February 19. Twelve external boundary fixtures assert every transition, and table invariants require twelve unique names and start keys.

This is the popular tropical convention, which anchors the zodiac to the seasonal equinox and solstice framework. It is not the sidereal zodiac, the modern astronomical constellation boundaries, a Chinese zodiac calculation, or a complete natal chart. Different astrological sources can shift a boundary by a day, especially around ingress times and time zones. A fixed month-and-day table cannot resolve those cusp cases.

The result does not infer personality, compatibility, health, career, relationships, luck, risk, or future events. Astrology is not a scientific personality assessment, and this label should not override direct evidence or guide medical, legal, financial, safety, employment, or relationship decisions. The page deliberately omits trait predictions and deterministic advice.

Calendar input is validated against a leap-year month model so February 29 can be selected, while impossible dates such as February 30 are rejected by the underlying logic. Since the mapping ignores year and location, February 29 uses the same Pisces label as nearby dates under this fixed convention. No birth record is stored or transmitted.

If you need an astrology calculation based on an exact birth moment, use a transparent ephemeris-based chart service and compare its stated zodiac system, time-zone handling, and source data. If you need astronomy, consult an astronomical ephemeris or observatory source rather than this cultural label.

Methodology & sources

Validate the selected Gregorian month and day, compare its MMDD key against a fixed twelve-entry tropical sun-sign boundary table, wrap dates before January 20 to Capricorn, and return only the sign name and Unicode symbol. Assert all twelve boundaries independently, require unique names and start keys, and disclose that fixed dates are approximate cultural convention rather than an ephemeris or scientific personality model.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an exact astronomical calculation?
No. It uses popular fixed tropical date ranges and does not calculate the Sun's exact ingress for a year, time, or location.
Why can another source show a different cusp date?
Astrological systems and fixed-date summaries differ, and exact ingress times vary by year and time zone.
Does the result describe my personality or future?
No. The tool returns only a cultural label and does not make scientific, diagnostic, or predictive claims.
Is my birth date saved?
No. The month and day are handled only in the current browser tab.
