About Photo Collage Maker
The Collage Maker is a fast, private way to combine several photos into a single polished image without installing software or creating an account. Everything happens locally: the photos you choose never leave your computer or phone. Your browser reads each image, arranges the pictures on a canvas, and produces a downloadable PNG β so there is no upload step, no waiting on a server, and no risk of your personal photos sitting in someone else's cloud.
Getting started takes seconds. Click the Add images button and pick anywhere from two to nine photos in the common formats browsers understand: PNG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF. As soon as your pictures load, a live preview of the finished collage appears. You can keep adding images up to the nine-photo limit, remove any single picture with its small remove button, or clear everything and start over. A thumbnail strip shows exactly which photos are included and in what order, so the arrangement is never a surprise.
Layouts adapt to the number of photos you add. With two pictures you can place them side by side or stack them vertically. Three photos fit neatly into a row or a column. Four pictures snap into a clean two-by-two grid, and up to nine fill a three-by-three arrangement. Switching between layouts is instant, so you can try a few arrangements and keep the one that frames your photos best.
Fine-tuning is simple. A spacing slider adds even margins between the photos, from a tight edge-to-edge look all the way to a generous forty-pixel border, and a color picker sets the background that shows through those gaps. Choose white for a classic photo-print feel, black for a bold gallery look, or any color that matches the mood of your images. Because the spacing and background are drawn behind the pictures, they double as a frame around the whole collage.
Every photo is fitted into its cell with a center cover crop. That means each image is scaled up or down until it completely fills its space and is then trimmed evenly from the sides or from the top and bottom, so nothing looks stretched, squashed, or distorted. Portrait and landscape photos sit together comfortably because each one is cropped to the shape of its cell while keeping its natural proportions.
When you are happy with the result, click Download to save a high-quality PNG. PNG keeps the edges between your photos crisp and the colors accurate, which makes the collage suitable for printing, sharing on social media, sending in a message, or using as a wallpaper or profile banner.
Collages are useful in more situations than you might expect. Combine before-and-after shots, build a simple mood board, group product photos for a listing, assemble travel memories into one shareable picture, or put together a quick photo grid for a birthday or holiday post. Because the tool runs entirely in your browser, it keeps working even on a slow connection once the page has loaded, and it behaves the same on desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones. There is no sign-up, no watermark, and no limit on how many collages you can make.
Frequently asked questions
- Are my photos uploaded?
- No. Every photo stays on your device. The collage is composed entirely in your browser on an HTML canvas, and nothing is ever sent to a server or stored online.
- How many photos can I combine?
- Between 2 and 9 photos. The available grid layouts adjust automatically to the number of images you add, from a simple two-photo pair up to a three-by-three grid of nine.
- Will my photos be stretched or distorted?
- No. Each photo is scaled to fill its cell using a center cover crop, so it keeps its natural proportions and is trimmed evenly instead of being stretched or squashed.
- What file format is the download?
- The collage is saved as a PNG image, which keeps the edges between photos sharp and the colors accurate for printing, sharing, or using online.
- Does it work on my phone?
- Yes. The tool runs in any modern browser on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops, and it needs no app install or account.
